Tell all Tuesday: A wish, A Goal, A Dream

I'm alive ya'll... Alive! I took a little break to recover from a busy month.

And in that time it's finally hit me as I stepped into school for the first time yesterday- that my summer is basically over. It's time to get my hands dirty and dust off all of my stuff to get ready for the new sweet little faces that will be in my class this year.

So to help with my acceptance of this sadness- I just had to link up with Diana from My Day in K and Jayme from Teach, Talk, Inspire for this last Tell All Tuesday: A wish, A Goal, A Dream. I can't believe it's the last one- I've loved getting to read all about these amazing teachers and make new connections.

I love this last Tell All because it helped me to focus on what I want to achieve this year.

Goal: This year my goal is to focus on what matters. Often times we get caught up in the work drama and feeling of a need to keep up with others. My goal this year is to focus on my classroom and doing what is right for my students. Making sure to focus on my family and my own kids. Time is going by way too fast and it won't be long before I look back and ask "where did time go?"

Wish: I always wish this, but it's worth wishing it every year. I wish that all of my kinder babes will come out of this year with a love for learning and a love for themselves. It's a big task, but it's so worth it at the end of the year.

Dream: Let's be honest....I really wanted to say "Win the lotto!" , but keeping it simple and real- I would love to be able to find the perfect balance between my family and school. I'm totally guilty of staying at school too late or bringing way too much work home. I have to admit that there have been times that the hubs calls me out because I zone out and focus on school stuff when I should be focusing on family time. I NEED to balance this. What's left at school will be there in the morning and it's not going to kill me if it doesn't get done......right?!?! It might keep me up all night, but "Did you die?" (Lol sorry movie quote)

What's your Goal, Wish and Dream for this year? Link up with the amazing ladies for Tell All Tuesday!!

All about this Kinder Teacher: Kinder Tribe Linky Party

Hey ya'll!!! I have internet again!! Can I get a HOLLA?!?

So of course to celebrate this momentous occasion of having internet back (#firstworldproblems) -  I have to join up with my Kinder Tribe for their 1st linky party "All About this Kinder Teacher!!!" Have you checked out their amazing blog page yet??? They have an incredible giveaway going on right now- make sure to stop by and check it out when you link up!!!

I have to say that teachers in general are a special breed of people, but Kindergarten teachers are a whole breed of amazing-ness, patience and a little bit of crazy and silly mixed in. I can't imagine teaching another grade (believe me I tried). So here's a little about me- this Kinder Teacher!

I've been teaching for a total of 8 years....maybe 9. I don't know- it might be the age and memory loss or I've just lost track, but I started my teaching career as a special education teacher for Kinder and 1st. It's where I was meant to be for sure. I got displaced to my current school and was moved to 4th grade special education and my heart was broken. We are talking tears and the ugly cry you guys!!! It was so not cute!
I spent 1 year doing that and then got out of sped (that's like mission impossible, but I did it!) and taught 4th grade general ed for 1 year. Finally, my principal knew where my heart was and sent me back to kinder!!! And I've been there for 4 years of amazing-ness!!!

Now, maybe it's a Texas thing, but I surely cannot live without my Big Red. If you see Mrs. Martinez drinking Big Red and eating cheetos it usually means 2 things. 1. She's stressed and stress eating. or 2. She had tacos for breakfast. (This is usually the answer if it's a Friday) There's even a sign in my class that says "This class runs off of love and a whole lot of Big Red" Cross my heart and no lie!

Now on to the rest- Flair pens and Mr. Sketch- aren't those like a requirement to teach period?!? I have a special place in my heart for Mr. Sketch. Reading "Chick Chicka Boom Boom" each year makes my heart smile- add in the little video with song and I'm a goner. I have a major girl crush on Cara Carroll from First Grade Parade- like totally think she's amazing and my idol. I might cry if I meet her. Don't judge me please.

And the main reason I started teaching has always been the same from my first day of Kinder- I love taking little ones who might not even know a letter is a letter or that it makes a sound for heaven sakes and watching their faces light up when they finally get something they've been struggling with and working on. We are talking- tears and smiles and my little heart exploding. Oh the face they make- I get excited just thinking about it!!!

There's a little about me....nothing too crazy or exciting. We would love to learn more about all of you so join in on the linky if you are kinder teacher and check out the amazing teachers that make up the Kinder Tribe!!

Sunday Scoop-ing it up!

Happy Sunday my friends!!! Enjoying these last few Sundays of summer before I start dreading them again. :) I know I'm not the only one. I used to be such a list person....B.K. aka "before kids." so I absolutely love Sunday Scoop with with the amazing ladies at Teaching Trio. It helps to get me focused on the week ahead.
Have to:
1. I know I said last week I have to get stuff together for my sister in law's bridal shower, but I'm still doing it guys!!! It's crazy and seems like every time I think I'm done....I remember something else. It's this Saturday so it's almost over, but then we all know what comes next.....planning for school. Whomp! Whomp!

2. Let's just say that AT&T isn't earning brownie points with this girl. Our service has been cutting out at least 10 times a day for the past 2 months. They can't figure out why so 4 techs, 10 people over the phone and 1 supervisor later- we still have service that cuts out. Time to pass it on to the serious one of the household-the Hubs! God Bless them, but he's not happy and it won't be fun for them.

3. So....we don't go back until mid-August, but my kinder team has 2 new wonderful teachers joining our team and planning and getting them ready is a must. So of course the best place to meet and plan is at La Madeleine. Truth be told, we probably will spend the majority of this meeting catching up and eating dessert.

Hope to:
1. Don't judge, but I have yet to do my 1st Periscope broadcast. I know...I know- just do it!  With our service cutting out and things being a hot mess up over here- I've just remained a lurker for the past 2 weeks. I will do it this week ya'll I promise!!! You'll get to hear my little accent and see my mess of an office! Woohoo!!

2. When my mom retired from teaching a few years ago, I swore I would be able to see her more and spend more time with her. WRONG! That lady is busy ya'll. She's all over the place and having lunch here and running errands over there. It's crazy, but I'm blessed she's able to do it. So this week, I hope to be able to spend some time with my momma without my sweet kids. Don't get me wrong- love my kids, but there is something different about being able to spend time with people when your kids aren't rambling your ear off or saying "Momma and Nanas-WATCH!!"

Happy to:
It's Sunday again so it's family Sunday!!! Swim time, sunshine, and lounging around after lunch = Heaven!!

How's your week looking so far? Link on up! Thanks for stopping by my sweet friends!!!

Five for Friday

I seriously can't believe that it's already the middle of July!!! It's been quite the week and this month is blowing by faster than I would like!!! I love teaching, but I'm loving being home with my littles more and more each day! So I'm joining up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to highlight my Five for Friday!!!

Oh my goodness!!! If you haven't joined the Persicope craze- I highly suggest you do so! I've been obsessed this week with checking out and watching everyone's Periscope broadcast and connecting with such amazing teachers!!!  Like obsessed watching all the time and giving as many hearts as I can because anyone who is brave enough to broadcast on Periscope is a rockstar in my eyes.  I'll be honest ya'll- I have yet to do my first broadcast for so many reasons: it means I have to put on make-up and do my hair, what if I sound like a hot mess, I hate my voice, what if I only have like 1 person watch..sooooo many what-ifs!!! I promise- I'll just get over it and broadcast this weekend. As nervous as I am- I really want to do it. So go find me ya'll and get ready for one possibly hot mess of a broadcast.

Speaking of amazing teachers and connecting. I have been so excited to meet so many amazing teachers through Periscope and blogging recently. I came across the incredible Kinder Tribe group on Facebook. I have to tell you that the excitement that Deirdre at Mrs. Garcia's Super Scholars and Molly at Miss K's Little Rays have on this Facebook group just has me pumped up to learn more and collaborate with such an amazing group of Kinder teachers. If you teach Kinder and are looking for wonderful support and connections- this is the place to go!!!

 Yesterday was the Hubs' birthday. He's not excited about getting older and doesn't love birthdays like I do, but the kids were excited. This little man rocked his party hat all day even during lunch and dinner time. From the moment he got out of bed he was asking for his "Happy birthday to you" hat. Cammy was over the moon about her Daddy's birthday and threw him a birthday party with little brother and sister and all of her stuffed animal friends. It was definitely a fun and cute kind of day. Let's be honest people- getting older sucks, but having these little people so excited that you, this big boring, and tall person has a birthday- makes it 100 times better.

Did I mention that I personally love birthdays? Because I do.....like countdown to my birthday and celebrate for a week kind of love. So it should come as no surprise that this girl right here LOVES cake!!! When I met the Hubs I got him a cookie cake from the Great American Cookie Company because you know...who doesn't love cookie cake? Well....I'll be honest and tell you that I did it with a hidden agenda- I figured if I got him one...he would get me one come my birthday time. One word ya'll- WRONG!!! So I now get my cookie cake fix on his birthday- it's to make up for him not catching on and spreading the cookie cake love.

I'm a total social addict with all of my social media accounts. I finally took the dive and started an Instagram account for my blog and soon to be TPT store. You don't realize how many people you follow until you have to transfer over the teacher accounts you follow. HOLY MOLY!!! You can come and follow me at my NEW Instagram teacher account @yeehawinkindergarten !!!! I'd love to follow back!

This week flew by- here's to hoping that next week slows down a bit! I'm not ready for August my friends!! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my crazy blog. Link up and join in on the fun!!!

Tell All Tuenesday: My life as a reality show

Hey my friends!!! It's Tell All Tuesday again so I'm linking up with with Diana at My Day in K and Teach, Talk, Inspire! for this week's challenging but fun idea. {I know I am a day late- I wrote this and forgot to post- epic blog fail!!!}
This week, is my life as a reality show- what would it be called and be about.

Let's be honest ya'll....my TV watching days are literally over unless it's Paw Patrol, Wally Kazaam, or anything Nick Jr and Disney related. I do my fair share of the hot diggity dog song daily and I'm pretty good at it. I used to be a reality show junkie and now I'm lame......Whomp! Whomp!!

That being said it made it easy for me to think of what my life as a reality show would be called.

We talk about this topic all the time in our house.....maybe because we are silly, maybe because we are total nerds, or maybe because there's a whole lot of crazy going on in this family that could entertain millions. The hubs says all of the time "We would make a good reality show family to follow" SO.....our show would have to be called "Surviving Tres" aka Surviving Three because honestly ya'll that's what we are doing up over here- surviving! Can a girl get a few "Amens" over here? I'm sure I have some momma's here that can relate!

Don't judge ya'll, but this momma thing is hard! So our show would be centered around raising 3 little ones, follow us through our ups and downs as a family, watching our crazy antics, laughing at our sarcastic humor and crazy ideas, and my adventures of balancing 3 kids, a hubs and teaching. I know that must sound so boring, but you guys have no idea how silly this little family is when we are together.

With a group like this how can it be boring:

The Dramatic 6 year old going on 25- where everything is a big deal and the attitude never ends. {Yes, if you look closely you see a little one mixed in there}

The 2 year old kid who never stops going and literally rocks the Flash costume all day long.

And the baby who probably is wondering how she ended up with this crazy family. Meanwhile, passes out on the floor like this when she's tired. {parent of the year over here ya'll}

Don't let her fool you- she joins in on the crazy too!
Our life is a ball of crazy which would probably entertain people for hours, have them thinking "what the heck?" and laughing their butts off when they can relate to this crazy thing called parenting. I wouldn't have it any other way.

So what would you life be called if it was a reality show. Link up with us and share!!

One Lovely Blog Award!!

Oh my goodness friends!!!
I was beyond excited and honored to find out (as I was doing my daily weekly blog reading/stalking) that I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog award by the amazing Carol at Mrs. B's Classroom Adventures. Imagine this 34 year old squealing like she was a 10 year old at a One Direction concert- yea, the look from the hubs was priceless!

I've had a blog for a while and it definitely wasn't the cutest blog out there so I have to give major love to Megan at A Bird in Hand Designs. It's absolutely adorable now and I am over the moon for it. She's designed this blog and my personal family blog & she's beyond amazing!!!

I'm excited to pass this cool award on, but I can't forget to share some little facts about me before passing it on.

1. I'm the child of a teacher, spent my summers in classrooms helping my mom decorate, hours upon hours in a teacher store before the school year started, days cutting out lamination, years calling my mom's teacher friends Ms. "so and so" even at the age of 34 and years of knowing them, and many days of helping put together treats for her kids- so it was inevitable. I almost didn't go into teaching towards the end of college, but here I am teaching and following in her footsteps. I wouldn't change it for the world.

2. I'm married to a fighter. Not like "oh he's fought his way through life" kinda fighter, but the knock them out, put them in a choke hold while fighting in an octagon kind of fighter. Yea! Crazy!!! My husband not only coaches, but he trains as a pro-MMA fighter. He's had fights in Vegas and different states and few here in Texas. It's not always easy to watch him fight, but he loves it and he's pretty darn good at it.

3. I have a a 6 year old daughter going into 1st grade, a just turned 2 year old son, and a soon to be 1 year old sweet baby girl. It's truly an army of my husband's mini-mes running around ruling the nest. How is it that I carried them for 9 months and they all came out little versions of the hubs is beyond me!!

4. I have one amazing sister. She is 6 years younger than me and lives in LA. Aside from the hubs and my kids- she's my heart! Not only is she just cool in general, but she has a cool job- she works for the Bravo show Vanderpump Rules as an assistant editor. I'm going to be honest and say - it's totally the craziest show, but it's my guilty pleasure and I'm obsessed. How cool is that?

5. I used to be a cheerleader growing up- if you couldn't already tell. :) I started cheering at the age of 5 and did it all the up to college. I'm was picture posing pro, back-flipping, smiling ear to ear, loud as they can get  cheerleader. It was my life and that spunky-ness definitely helps when you teach kinder!

6. I am the daughter of a parent with colon cancer. We found out last January that my daddy has Stage IV colon cancer that had spread to his liver as well. I would never wish this kind of news on my worst enemy- it's definitely life changing for all involved. I am blessed to say that while it will never go away, with chemotherapy and tumor removal he is now in remission after battling for a year. They are currently maintaining it with monthly treatments of chemo and while I would rather be able to say that my daddy is cancer-free and perfectly healthy- I can say that he's strong, fighting, and living each day with love, hope, and faith. He's amazing!

7. I worked as a bartender at Chili's for my 5 years of college. It definitely was the best time of my life and I was pretty darn good at it. I am able to make all sorts of drinks and shots to this day.  Let's just say it definitely comes in handy now that I'm teaching. {wink, wink}

Thanks for reading and a BIG thank you to Carol for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award. I can not wait to connect with more of you amazing teachers through blogging.

I would like to nominate:

Happy Sunday Scoop

It's time for another week!! You guys- I can't believe how fast July is going!!! It makes me kind of sad and excited at the same time with so much coming up and going on, but I'm not ready for summer to be over. Don't mind me as I silently cry.

With July going by so fast, it's always fun to link up with Teaching Trio and the Sunday Scoop. It's been so neat connecting with so many amazing teachers. Absolutely over the moon happy to read and share with all of you!

So here's what my week looks like:

Have to:
1. This week is the hubs' birthday and while he's not a fan of birthdays and getting older- I'm a huge fan of celebrating birthdays of those I love. So it's a must that I find a good gift for him from the kids. Shopping time!!
2. I took on the job of throwing a bridal shower for my sister in law all by myself. A little stressful, but so much fun. I just need to finish making shopping list for food items and confirm the cake. Did I mention I get to craft? Yea...there's lots of glitter on my floor ya'll. Looks like the Tooth Fairy exploded up in here. You'll have to see my post tomorrow about what I've made.
3. Oh Wells Fargo....it's been one stressful week with Wells Fargo withdrawing money out of my account that was not supposed to be taken out and them adding money in without telling me as a credit. So I NEED to go to the bank and close my account with them. After 5 errors on their part- I think it might a good idea to switch. {SIGH}

Hope to:
1. I'm sure some of you remember me mentioning the boxes I brought home from school to organize. Yea....those are still there. I know ya'll- total slacker over here! I need to get on that.
2. Oh how I miss one of my most amazing friends. She's my sanity during the school year since we teach on the same team so it's always a plus that our littles are around the same age and adore each other. Definitely needing some adult conversation and play date time.

Happy to:
During the school year- I dread Sundays, but oh my word friends- during the summer I LOVE them! Sundays have always been our family days that we spend at my in laws house down the road. It's like total amazing-ness with lunch is made for us, the kids have grandparents entertaining them, we get to chill out and end our afternoon swimming in the pool. It's like total Sunday heaven. Ahhhh...I can't wait.

Here's to a new week! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!   Thanks for stopping by and reading my Sunday Scoop.  Be sure to check out Teaching Trio to learn what other bloggers have, hope, and are happy to do this Sunday!
